A year ago a team of die-hard artists announced The Impossible Project to resurrect instant film from the dead. At the time it seemed too good to be true but after an incredible journey the team is congratulating each other on a job well done.

Black and white film for traditional Polaroid SX 70 cameras is on sale at the impossible website for 21 US dollars per box of 8.

Pictured is a painting by Giovanni Caroto, ca 1515. I’m amazed at how well I recognize the boy’s drawing despite the 500 year gap. The whole painting has a very contemporary feel.
